Berkeley, CA

Today is one of those rare days I would actually post about something we did on the same day. It appears to me like I would fit in really well with the environment and feel of Berkeley. It's really diverse and extremely city-like. It's been a dream for me to get accepted to University of California, Berkeley although my intended major isn't one of it's specialties. *sobs* I would compare UC Berkeley to something like UP in the Philippines.
Moving on, we went on an adventure to Berkeley since we really haven't explored that area yet. We went to a park to take my little sister and cousins out. Basically just chilled, and took pictures!

This would mostly be a mini photo diary since there were lots of gorgeous shots I really have nowhere to put. Anyways, enjoy the photos!

Mama and Papa!

Sorry for the lack of words for this blogpost. School is draining everything out of me, plus I'm sick too. Hopefully I get better in a few days. Have a great day everyone. xx

Back To School/ Fall Haul 2013

Hey guyyyss! It's been too long since I last posted something, so I've decided to just make a blog post about this mini collective back to school or we might as well call it "Fall Haul". This was originally planned to be a youtube video but my iMovie kept on crashing and I just waited till all the packages came in. I didn't buy these all at the same time. It just kind of accumulated.

And since fall is just around the corner, most of the things I bought are already for the best season ever. Fall is just my favorite time of the year. Layers, boots, scarves, and burgundy! Everything just seems so pretty and cozy during this season. I won't keep you guys waiting any longer, let's jump into the haul!

These are just the basic must-haves. You would always need plain cardigans and a black bodycon skirt. I think these are wardrobe staples. I got the three of these from Forever 21 and I actually bought a plain gray dress along with these. I just couldn't find it in my closet right now. Haha!

We went to Pier 39 at San Francisco around a month ago for my sister's birthday and saw these. There were actually tons of different designs but I really really wanted to get the California crew neck sweater and that beanie. I just realized I didn't have any sweater that I could just throw on when it starts to get cold.

I've been eyeing Brandy Melville's beanies for quite some time now but I think they're a little bit too expensive for just a beanie. So when I found this I thought it would be a great alternative to an $18 beanie from BM. And guess what? This was only $5! Such a great steal.

Now for the fun stuff. I recently just bought high-waisted jeans from American Eagle (not pictured cause it's in the laundry haha) and I really wanted something simple and boxy to pair with them. I found this "GEEK 83" crop top and it was the perfect shirt I was looking for. On the right, I bought this blue and green flannel at Forever 21. I think plaid flannels are a fall statement!

I've been searching for the perfect hooded utility/military jacket for the longest time now and I finally found it! I got this jacket from Forever 21. It's lightweight and perfect for layering during fall. I could already sense that this would be one of my favorite fall/winter pieces!

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you are probably already familiar with these two pieces. I got both online. The dress is from Sheinside, and the white skort is from Romwe. I've been contemplating for like a week whether I would get the white Zara inspired skort or the black one. But since I already have too much dark pieces, I went with white!

I actually found this dress from a youtube video from one of my favorite youtubers, Laur-DIY. It's just this perfect mini mineral-washed dress with a crochet detailing on the waist. The length is kind of too short though so it's just really perfect for girls who are around 5'0-5'3ish.

These shoes are like all over blogs. I'm pretty sure they would be a fall hit so I made sure I got them before stores run out. I got these from Charlotte Russe for a pretty good deal. It's just a perfect blend of edge and sophistication. Definitely a must have!

These white laced oxfords are from H&M. It's just a simple pair of girly oxfords. I love them because it's easy to dress up and down!

Last but not the least, I got these brown combat boots from Charlotte Russe, again. I think every single girl must have a pair of brown combat boots. It's just one of those go to shoes because they match anything and everything, just like Black Doc Martens but obviously this is much cheaper.

So there you go! I hope you found this post entertaining because I really enjoyed creating it. This could serve as an inspiration for all you girls out there planning to shop for fall. Till next time!

Back to Black: Part I

Hey everyone! I know I say this in almost every single entry but, I'm sorry for the lack of posts on my blog. Summer's been really good to me and I've been too occupied with a lot of things hence the overdue posts.

But anyways, I'm back and I'm in the process of starting this series called "Style What?" The phrase "say what?" served as in inspiration while I was thinking of a title. "Style What?" already speaks for itself. I believe you already know what it'd be all about. I'm going to pick a piece from my wardrobe and style it in 3 different ways. Leave a comment below if you have any suggestions for my next posts!

The staple piece I chose for the pilot entry is a black skater skirt. (Hence the post's title) You guys are probably wondering why I picked that. Well mainly because it's been such a hype for the past few months and I'm not going to deny, I really adore it. It's one of the pieces you would want to keep no matter what season it is because of it's versatility and more so because it's black! Anything black is easy to dress up and down.

I'm dividing Back to Black in three different posts and I will be presenting a style in each. For the first one, I went with the "soft grunge" style.

I consider this soft grunge because it's the most "rebel" type out of all 3 outfits I laid out and prepared. It looks girly and funky at the same time. The combination of a denim vest + skirt & heels did a good job balancing the look.

Denim Vest: Levis Gray Tank: Forever 21 Skirt: Cotton On Belt: Hollister
Wedges: People Are People (Philippines)

I am currently addicted to stacking up some rings. Aren't they so adorbz?!
Knuckle Rings: Forever 21

Love Bangle: Forever 21 Layered Bracelet: Nordstrom Braided Bracelet: Cotton On
(The picture of my rings and bracelets aren't edited. I love my portrait lens so much.)

Oh and can I just express how happy I am for finally getting a better hang of self-timer and a tripod!

Summer Lovin'!

Hey everyone! I've been MIA, as usual. And I'm sorry for that. I honestly didn't have time to update my blog because of school and such. Although yesterday, the school year finally ended! I have this bittersweet feeling about it because first of all, I'm not ready to be a senior yet and second because it's finally summer! If you guys follow me on instagram, which is @mikaelapangilinan, you would be updated on my weekly happenings (I have been posting a lot of selfies lately though).

Just recently, I became interested in joining the vlog hype. I personally think it's much easier, fun-er, and a more interactive way of sharing deets of my daily life with you. I have been shamelessly promoting this on my twitter and my instagram account and if ever you have not seen it yet, it's MsVlogabond. Why MsVlogabond? Well, I got that from the term vagabond which means something like a person who wanders from place to place, and that's what my youtube channel is all about. I would mostly be vlogging about places I visited and all that. I will try to incorporate outfit inspiration videos, tutorials, and challenges too! If ever you guys have any suggestion on what kind of videos I should make, please message me at ask.fm (which is also by the way my newest addiction besides Vine)

And I guess that's it! I will share my latest video below (please watch on HD) and I'll see you guys soon. Toodles! xx

Spring Break Haul!

Hello chicas! (and if ever there are chicos but that'd be weird) I feel like I owe my blog a load of blogposts. I'm sorry I've been slacking a lot due to school. Anyways, I was thinking of making a video of my spring haul but then I really can't find time to do it soooo voila! I decided to just come up with a blogpost for it. A lot of people are asking me where/from what store do I shop or buy my clothes, and I honestly find my answer redundant because with all honesty, like 95% of my wardrobe is from Forever 21. Without exaggeration. Haha! Okay too much chatting and let these pictures just talk for themselves.

Light Denim Skater Skirt: Cotton On
Acid-wash shorts: Love Culture

Short or cropped tops are like essentials for spring and summer!
San Francisco and LA Bones tanks: Brandy Melville

Tie-knot fronts are my current faves!

Floral Mini Dress: Forever 21

I already wore some of these in my latest outfits but I never got to blog about them. Although if you guys follow me on Instagram, you would be pretty updated with my looks! For the mean time, I will post some of them here so you guys could take a look and let me know what you think!

Chambray Blue Wash

Tie-front collar-chained top; Wedge Booties: Forever 21
Chambray Blue Washed Skater skirt: Cotton On

Hola readers! My deepest apologies for slacking with my blogposts due to my time being occupied all by school. Haha! Although, if you guys are following me on Instagram, you would know that I am always up to-date with my obligatory once a week post of at least one of my outfits.

Sweater: Sheinside Chambray Blue Washed Skater skirt; Black Loafers: Cotton On

Anyways, as you could see, the two outfits shown above use the same skirt. That, by far is my favorite skirt ever! It's the comfiest and one of the most flattering (although not seen cause my tops aren't tucked in) skirts in my wardrobe right now. We all notice how much attention is drawn to chambray lately and I will not deny how much I fell in love with it, too. It's just so simple yet cute to look at. Clothes that could possibly match anything is pretty hard to find and I'm glad I finally found one! Words cannot express how much I love this skirt. Redundant, I know. Haha. Well the bottom line is, this will be one of my wardrobe staples!

I have also been a little obsessed with curling my hair on a daily basis lately and I don't know why. Probably, I became sick of seeing my hair straight for like 16 years. Haha! Also, even if what you're wearing is simple, if your hair is all done, it could do the magic! I am thinking of doing a tutorial on curling sometime soon but I'm not yet sure if I should. I just thought maybe I should do something different and interesting to post here on my blog. On a different note, it's St. Patrick's Day tomorrow and I do not have anything green in my closet, I think I'm screwed hahaha. Winter's about to be over too and we all can't wait for spring! I promise to update my blog as much as I could together with keeping up with school. Thank you for continuously supporting my posts! Till next time. xx

Ruins

Mia, Me, Camille

That's probably the worst picture of the set but this is the only one we got with all three of us since we didn't bring a tripod. Had a day well spent with these chicas. This is such a memorable day and I can't even put my emotions in words. Let's just say, I'm soooo willing to cry over my Doc Martens.. Yup. We wanted the theme of the shoot to be all grunge, thug, and all that but we didn't really know where to shoot. We knew there was such a place called "ruins" nearby but we didn't know how to get there. After asking people, we found out it was just right behind where I live. Haha! It was a perfect spot but man, all I could say about getting there is.. the struggle is SO real. There was a fence which we had to climb over and all that but I think it was worth it! Plus we targeted sunset so voila! I hope you enjoy even if this kinda has too much pictures. ((we all know there is no such thing as too much pictures))

Cropped top: Thrifted Dyed + Studded shorts: Forever 21 (DIY-ed by my friend
Boots: Doc Martens

I hope you guys had a great saturday or whatever day it is wherever you are! xx
Here's a short clip of my sister and I happy dancing! :D
